India DA Arrear Calculation Guide 2024-2025
What is DA Arrear?
Dearness Allowance (DA) is revised by the Government of India twice a year (Jan & July). Arrears are paid when the cumulative rate increase is announced several months after the effective date, covering the backdated payouts.
HRA Revision Rule
Under the 7th Pay Commission, House Rent Allowance (HRA) is automatically revised from 27/18/9% to 30/20/10% globally once the DA reaches or crosses the 50% threshold (Effective Jan 2024).
How to Calculate DA Arrear?
The calculation follows a simple formula based on your Basic Pay:
Latest DA Rates (2024 - 2025)
| Effective Date | DA Rate (%) | HRA (X/Y/Z) |
|---|---|---|
| Jan 2024 | 50% | 30/20/10% |
| July 2024 | 53% | 30/20/10% |
| Jan 2025 | 55% | 30/20/10% |
| July 2025 (Exp.) | 58% | 30/20/10% |
